I love to hang around after a photo session to just watch and enjoy the dogs play and practice. Enjoy this You Tube video of the Dock Diving Level 1, week 6 class at Ohio Air Dogs. Direct link: http://youtu.be/nB1R1SroMnA
Last night’s Puppy Pawsibilities graduating class with Marie Goodwin, was adorable! These pups were true puppies and have learned so much from their training!
Congratulations to the February 22, 2012 class! (L-R): “Orson” Red Labrador Retriever / ”Maggie” Weimaraner / “Charlotte” Australian Shepherd
Let me introduce you to two of the tiniest dogs at Ohio Air Dogs! They are small celebrities in their own right! Scruffy is the companion dog to Renee Roth, one of the great trainers at Ohio Air Dogs! Merlin, being cared for by Owner, Marie Goodwin, is undoubtedly destined to become a dock diver or agility boy! He’s already been in the pool and learning the ropes! These dogs have got moves! Watch them train only at Ohio Air Dogs in North Royalton, Ohio.
With my new sponsorship at Ohio Air Dogs in North Royalton, Ohio, I will be photographing the cute dogs on their training class graduation day! Meet the first classes! What a fun group of puppies!
FOR SALE! Individual images and class photos are available for purchase at Catherine Widemire Photography. Follow the link for “Clients.” Enjoy!
I want to answer some valuable questions that I am asked frequently and maybe some things you didn’t even know to ask!
Are you available during the week?
Yes! Weekdays are the choice of stay at home mom’s and dads! Schedule it as a play date with your child for loving photos of you and your child or pet!
What time of day is best to schedule?
Sessions are scheduled for early in the day to capture the beautiful morning light. This is also typically the least crowded time on location. Children and animals tend to be well rested and ready to go first thing in the day, too!
What should I expect the day of your session?
Fun!!! My lifestyle portraits are free flowing, candid smiles and movements. I move around the child or animal, gently posing as needed to create my vision. I will incorporate various scenes at the location chosen, to give you an array of backgrounds. Having that variety will create breathtaking wall portrait collections and keepsake storybook albums of your child or pet.
Will you come to our home to shoot?
My preference is to shoot at one of my favorite locations to add a new element for telling your story. Sometimes though, children or your pet are most comfortable in their own surroundings, so I can come to you. Please be sure ALL rooms of your home and yard are clean and clutter free. Sometimes the best place to photograph is the laundry room where the dogs’ bed is! It’s happens! Also, be sure windows and glass are smear free!
Children – When shooting at your home, I prefer to use the child’s bedroom as the main location. I can move around your home from there, but their room tells their story, best!
Dogs – Though it’s preferred to allow dogs to be outdoors during our session, a lot of times it is fun to photograph an animal on their favorite napping spot, by a window or curled up next to you on the couch. Be sure the yard is clear of dog poop! Have toys and treats available! This is the time to bring out their favorite, the ones that are sure to grab their attention!
Parrots – Please discuss your bird’s personality with me during your pre-consultation. I will tend to use a mix of natural light and strobe. We will use what works best for the situation and the animal’s behavior. Have their cage and play area clean and clutter free. Remember to clean up poop on window ledges and “drop spots!” Have treats and toys available. This is the time to bring out their favorite, the ones that are sure to grab their attention! Your hands may be in the photograph if the bird is perched on your arm. Be sure nails are manicured and rings are clean. I love outdoor aviaries if available!
Do you offer digital files of our images?
A lot goes into creating the beautiful portraits you see. The quality of final prints and products are what make your portrait memories cherished for life. I want to control that quality so that you always value the time and investment made.
I want you to share the love though! An option is available to purchase individual digital negatives for $200/each after the purchase of a qualifying wall portrait or album. Also available is a DVD of low resolution files of your entire session, to use in digital frames and social media! These watermarked images are non-printable but perfect for sharing online!
How long do you keep the image files from our session?
Digital negatives are purged from our back up system one year from the date of the session.

I’ve taken a lot of stabs at trying to make a blog work, but this time is different. With anything you love, you have work hard at it. Oh, and it’s Valentine’s Day, so I felt this was a good day to start blogging for real this time! I want to show you how much I appreciate and love my clients and supporters. Your trust and support can only be built by getting to know me first!
Please follow my blog along. I have included a full portfolio of my work, pricing and information about new quality (and GORGEOUS!) products being offered. You will read about what I’ve been up to, my travels and most importantly, me around town in my community.
