Do you have a beloved companion dog? So you know the warm, loving feeling that having that dog by your side, makes you feel? Therapy Dogs are meant to help do just that, make you feel good inside when it’s not the best of days. They visit you in the hospital or maybe even a nursing home. They bring joy and comfort to all that surround them. At Ohio Air Dogs, your dog can train to become a Therapy Dog! What a gift to share and spread that warmth and love with people in need!
Therapy Dog’s come in all sizes too! This week’s class from Monday, 3/26/12 had a small, medium and well, extra large pooch! I hope you enjoy these photos. If you would like to check out all of the photos from this class or maybe even purchase your favorites, you can do so on my website, click “Clients.”
Meet Sophie! She was introduced to you earlier today on my Facebook page with a post called “Caption it!” If you haven’t already, go check out the post and comment with your best caption! This cutie Chihuahua is full of expression and will charm her way as a Therapy Dog! She loves going to class and see that shirt she’s wearing? Her momma told me that Sophie only wears it when it’s time to “go to school.” Sophie gets so excited when the shirt gets pulled out of the drawer! Now that’s dedication to becoming a great Therapy Dog!
Meet Bailey, a Minicher Schnauzer! He’s a feisty, adorable soul! Bailey’s fuzzy ears peaked up to take notice of all things fun, which made it easy for me photograph him! I just couldn’t get enough of him!
Meet Houston! He’s a Goldendoodle full of puppy love, at only 18 months old. Houston has a bounce in his step and is so lovable. He’s going to make a great Therapy Dog!
I caught up with a couple of the dogs that were training in Agility, this past Monday, at Ohio Air Dogs. You’ve met Lydia before, she’s the Border Collie that I photographed training in Rally also! But I am also going to introduce you to Josie, the Vizsla. She’s just starting out her journey as an Agility dog. But she’s doing an amazing job and will try anything!
The below photos and more, from both Agility Level 1 and 2, week 6 on 3/26/12 are available for purchase on my website. Click “Clients.” As you enjoy the images and stories on my blog, be sure to leave your comments! Thank you! I appreciate hearing from you!
Meet Josie! She’s completing Agility Level 1. She was so good! She wanted to try all the obstacles! Her owners, Russ and Cheri, were trying everything to keep her on track, even cheese! But you know what did it for her? She’d do an obstacle, then would run over to give ME a big wet kiss!!! Her parents call her “the lover.” It was so cute! OK, so cheese worked too, but I liked it when I did “distract” her! Can’t get enough of doggy kisses!
Here’s Lydia. She’s so graceful! As much as I wanted to photograph her, I found myself just wanting to watch! She’s a bird on that course, just flying!
The best part for me with photographing at Ohio Air Dogs, is the unobtrusive candids I can get of the dogs, while they “work.” This is what I love and a specialty of mine. Outside of the training facility, my dog photography sessions are unique, fun and candid. I love to make funny noises and get them to look inquisitively! It’s so much fun. These dogs were training as part of the Rally Level 2, advanced class on 3/24/12. View all the photos and purchase them, on my website by clicking on “Clients.” Enjoy!
Meet Snoopy! He’s a character in his own right! He’s a Toy Fox Terrier / Italian Greyhound mix. A little body with big aspirations! He’s training hard at Rally and he stole my heart!
Meet Lydia. The Border Collie with “flying nun” ears! She has eyes that will melt your heart and the patience to be a wonderful Rally dog!
Meet Barney. Don’t let his “wink” get you down. He’s a beautiful Beagle / Hound mix pup and is great at following the directions to complete the Rally course!
Meet Izzy, the Golden Retriever with a smile ear to ear. She was brilliant on the course and had so much fun!
The luckiest dogs of the week were the ones that got to go swimming in the warm summer like weather! At Ohio Air Dogs, Dock Diving Level 1 was finishing their final class. What a great night to celebrate! It was in the 80s that day and made for the most beautiful sunset. Enjoy some of my favorite images from Dock Diving Level 1 week 6 on 3/22/12. All images are available for purchase on my website by clicking “Clients,” for 30 days. Enjoy!
Meet Max, the Golden Retriever! A sweetheart, eagar to get into the water!
Meet Dylan, the Vizsla! He’s a powerful diver!
Summer like Graduating Day {Catherine Widemire Photography, Lifestyle Pet Photographer} Cleveland OH

Lots of graduates this week! This class had two chocolate labs!!! Honey and Buddy! Those cuties had eyes to melt you (just like chocolate! Har har!). Mix it up with a puppy Oreo colored Great Dane named Antonio, and what a fun class! Yes, the “Oreo” pun, intended for the chocolate themed post! So grab a tall glass of milk, and meet the March 22, 2012 morning Basic Obedience training class graduates! Remember, all individual and class photos are available for purchase on my website, click “Clients.”
Monday’s graduating class had some big players in it! Bandit, the Sheltie was the not so timid little guy that wanted to play with the big boys! Gino, the Italian named German Shepherd was showcasing his skills and Scout, the German Shorthaired Pointer was nothing but fun and rumble-tumble when it came down to playtime! It was a whole lot of fun! I am enjoying meeting all the families of Ohio Air Dogs! Sharing a passion for dogs is one of the happiest things! Meet the Puppy 1 graduating class of March 19, 2012.

I love Dogster.com. It’s full of great info about dogs and local dog resources. So I couldn’t help but take their latest, “What Breed Are You?” quiz. My results…Jack Russell Terrier, how perfect!!!
So… comment below and share your results!
