I had the pleasure of photographing the 85th birthday celebration for a man named Walter, aboard a train! Not just any train either, but the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroads’ historic Saint Lucie Sound. This gorgeous, art deco train car made it’s way from Florida many years ago and was restored. It was originally part of Henry Flagler’s fleet. You know, the overseas railroad to Key West? That Henry Flagler. What a treat! This was my second time photographing on this train car too. I had spent time photographing the Conservancy for Cuyahoga Valley’s donor recognition train ride a couple years ago. What a neat experience to come back again!
Here is a beautiful showcase of images from the event and aboard this historic treasure. I hope you find yourself at home, riding along the rail with us. There’s fun, quiet moments and wonderful family bonding, celebrating this man’s life. He is a passionate train man of 85 years, and loved every minute of the journey. Enjoy – all aboard!
When it’s hot, it’s hot. But that doesn’t stop dogs from having a great time! Two weeks ago, Ohio Air Dogs held their summertime Member Appreciation Day! The day was filled with Frisbee, rally, agility and lots of bowls of water! Despite the incredible heat that day, the dogs did an amazing job at all of the events! Here are some highlights! To view the entire gallery and purchase prints of your dog, visit my website and choose “Clients” from the menu bar. The online gallery will be available for the next 30 days. Enjoy!
Anyone who knows me well, knows there are a couple quirky things about me that I love: Pirates and Jimmy Buffett. Now shake it up to benefit a parrot rescue like Parrot Hope Rescue, and you have one FUN party event! I was so thrilled to be a part of their big fundraising night! The theme was “Pasta in Parrotdise” and everyone joined in the fun. They had all kinds of parrots, pirates, “Parrot Heads” and the rest were dressed for Key West! I LOVED IT!
This rescue is essential to Northeast Ohio, helping save the lives of exotic birds of all sizes. These birds wait for their forever homes in foster care or at Parrot Hope Rescue’s huge bird sanctuary in Mantua, Ohio. I will be out there very soon, as a matter of fact, to photograph those birds looking to be adopted!
Please enjoy this showcase of some of my favorite images from the Pasta in Parrotdise event 2012! You know I’m a dog lover when I tell you that I spent my weekend at dog events, just for fun! This past Saturday started out in Akron at the Pet Expo at Hardesty Park then Sunday up to Kirtland to the Working Dog Weekend event held at Lake Metroparks Farmpark. Such great events!
Here are some cool pictures of a couple of demonstrations during the event. First it was Skyhoundz Frisbee. Then I took some pictures of Maggie, the mascot Border Collie, show off her herding skills! The Border Collie’s were amazing to watch!
I took on a new project this spring, to photograph the beautiful dancers of Creative Movement Center (CMC) in Broadview Heights, Ohio. It was their Premier Company Showcase that took stage on May 11, 2012 and I was the exclusive photographer backstage capturing photojournalist images from the wings.
It was hard not to feel excited for these young ladies and men. It was me, not long ago, that was there in tights and pointe shoes. I know the anticipation and LOVE for the stage. I was privileged to be a part of it, to capture these moments for them!
CMC is a family. You can feel the love between them and the positive energy to want to do your best on stage and in life, they’ll carry it on…
Students and Families… Here, I want to spotlight the Showcase Album that everyone has been hearing about! Think of this album as your yearbook! I have created gorgeous images for you to remember every moment of your recital, as ART. Enjoy it, show your children one day! These are YOUR memories! Enjoy!
Memorial Day weekend was an exciting one for the dogs and humans of G.R.I.N. (Golden Retrievers in Need Rescue Service). This wonderful group put on their first summer picnic event called Bark in the Park. It was held at on the grounds of the beautiful Brecksville Reservation. I was so happy to be a part of their day, to photograph all of the fun!
A touching dedication to those that served, kicked off the event. Special guest supporters of G.R.I.N., Joe Cronauer, from WKYC TV and an amazing young girl named Mabel, were both there. Mabel is from Lovin’ from Mabel’s Oven and bakes and sells yummy dog treats to help raise money for G.R.I.N. dogs in need! The day’s fun included games, food, dog hikes and doggy swimming pools for the pups to cool off in! What a fantastic event!
Please enjoy these and all of the images taken at the event on my website to share with friends or purchase your favorite pictures! Other featured photos also posted on my Facebook Page! Be sure to “Like” it to stay connected! Enjoy! WOOF!
Last Saturday, some of the advanced Rally dogs of Ohio Air Dogs, demonstrated their skills for a great group of children and adults at the Brunswick Library Pet Palooza! It was so much fun to watch the faces of the young ones, as the dogs did tricks and followed commands. Rally is so impressive to me. It’s the ultimate way to give your companion dog “a job” while still having lots of fun! Enjoy all the photos from the event and even purchase prints of your dog, right on my website! Choose “Clients” from the menu bar. Enjoy!
Meet Snoopy! Snoopy you’ve met before. He’s part of the Rally class from my March posting! He is a Toy Fox Terrier/Italian Greyhound mix. Snoopy is a wonderful Rally dog and also “prays’ for people, as one of his cute tricks as a Therapy Dog too!
Meet Barney! Barney put on quite a show for all the children and adults, with his Rally skills. He is a Beagle/Hound mix. You can see more of Barney doing Rally in my March post about Rally!
Meet Sancho! This young Bernese Mountain Dog is a wonderful Rally dog and babysitter! Look how adorable little baby Ben is with Sancho! Ben is definitely a future handler!
Meet Lilly! She is the cutest little fluff ball! Lilly is a Havanese mix breed. Not only did she put on an amazing Rally performance, but did some fun tricks for the audience!
