My volunteer work, photographing animals looking for their forever families, takes me to a place close to my heart, birds. I grew up with small ones, budgies. Then, my beloved Sam, a peach faced lovebird. He was such a sweetie. Always happy to have his human companions around! He lived to be about 16 years old! I still miss him.
Families that commit to large parrots should know that those birds can live up to 80 years! What a treat! But for those that the bird out lives their human or the human isn’t prepared to care for a large bird, it can be quite overwhelming. Luckily, the wonderful people of Parrot Hope Rescue, want to not only rehibilitate and adopt out wonderful birds but want to educate you too. These are true bird people. They can help you decide which parrot is right for your family. They have some beauties too, looking for a home. Please enjoy these images of adoptable parrots and share with your friends. Do not let these birds go unnoticed. All they want is for YOU to say, “hello!”

I want to share with you some loving dogs looking for their forever homes. These are mostly puppy mill rescues that have lived a hard life and now just want a lap to curl up on and someone to love them. Won’t you consider one of these beautiful dogs? The angels at Marilyn’s Voice Rescue would love to hear from you! Their photo shoot was held at the stunning, Squire’s Castle in Willoughby Hills OH. Only the best for these pups!

When it’s hot, it’s hot. But that doesn’t stop dogs from having a great time! Two weeks ago, Ohio Air Dogs held their summertime Member Appreciation Day! The day was filled with Frisbee, rally, agility and lots of bowls of water! Despite the incredible heat that day, the dogs did an amazing job at all of the events! Here are some highlights! To view the entire gallery and purchase prints of your dog, visit my website and choose “Clients” from the menu bar. The online gallery will be available for the next 30 days. Enjoy!
I am so happy to report that little Manny, the puppy mill Chihuahua, has found his “furever” home! He is one of the first dogs that I photographed for Marilyn’s Voice and I couldn’t be more proud to have had a little part in his success story! This is why I do what I do, it’s an awesome feeling! These dogs want to be loved and find the right family to take them home! If you would like to learn more about Marilyn’s Voice and all the great dogs they have available, please visit www.marilynsvoice.org. WOOF!
Anyone who knows me well, knows there are a couple quirky things about me that I love: Pirates and Jimmy Buffett. Now shake it up to benefit a parrot rescue like Parrot Hope Rescue, and you have one FUN party event! I was so thrilled to be a part of their big fundraising night! The theme was “Pasta in Parrotdise” and everyone joined in the fun. They had all kinds of parrots, pirates, “Parrot Heads” and the rest were dressed for Key West! I LOVED IT!
This rescue is essential to Northeast Ohio, helping save the lives of exotic birds of all sizes. These birds wait for their forever homes in foster care or at Parrot Hope Rescue’s huge bird sanctuary in Mantua, Ohio. I will be out there very soon, as a matter of fact, to photograph those birds looking to be adopted!
Please enjoy this showcase of some of my favorite images from the Pasta in Parrotdise event 2012! This post is extra special to me because my little dog has graduated from Puppy Kindergarten! If you follow me on Facebook, you have heard me talk about my new Blue Merle Border Collie puppy, Makai. He even has his own Facebook Page! Well, Makai is four months old now and he and his litter mater brother, Pierce, have graduated obedience training! Two other awesome puppies joined them in a fun graduation day! This is Ohio Air Dogs’ week 6 class from 6/14/12. If you would like to enjoy the entire gallery or purchase prints, please visit my website under “Clients.” Thank you! WOOF!

This past Sunday, 6/10/12, I checked out Ohio Air Dog’s Basic Obedience Level 1, week 6 class. Only one dog was in attendance so she got loves of love from my camera!
Meet Joy. She’s a strikingly gorgeous Siberian Husky rescue. I couldn’t get enough of her. Such a sweetheart!
I am so happy to report that Jagger, one of the gorgeous adoptable dogs from North Coast Doberman Rescue, has found his furever home! Jagger is such a sweet boy and I couldn’t be happier for him!!!
I love when I meet families that are so passionate about their pets and recognize them as family. Our pets are always there for us, they don’t judge and they always are there to make us smile! So, it was only natural that Denise and Robert included them in their family portrait session! Add two kids, two pugs and a boxer, to round out this awesome family!
